The Freeview HD TV Guide is a fully functioning portable television guide, with a quick and simple navigation, allowing the user to find out what’s on the box with a scroll of a finger. Additional features such as a sophisticated search engine which allowed free text or category search sets it apart from existing TV Guide applications. Recommendations are also provided through the integrated Twitter feed brought to you directly from Freeview HQ. The ability to select your specific region and favourite channels adds another level of personalisation, but we’ve kept the app functionally light to keep it speedy. Apple has received over 5000 downloads within the first week since launch and is 2nd in the UK ‘Reference’ Top Free chart… That might be because it hasn’t got any of the annoying ads like all the other guides.

An upgrade which includes a version for the iPad is already underway.
